Registration Form: 2015 Retreat Registration Form
I'm so excited to announce the second annual SockBunny Retreat! It will be held in the town of Oldsmar, Florida, which is about 15 minutes from where I live in Tampa, and it is only about 20 minutes from Tampa International Airport. It is a very nice area and is within walking distance (about 1 mile) of the beautiful waters of Tampa Bay. Oldsmar is located at the top of Tampa Bay between Tampa and Clearwater.
This retreat will be an intimate, cozy, relaxing weekend away with knitters, crocheters, and spinners who will understand your fiber passion/obsession. Bring your current projects, but also bring some finished objects to show off to others who will appreciate why you do what you do and why you don't "just buy your socks at Wal-mart." ;) There will be lots of laughs. Bring any "challenging" projects you need assistance with.
There are many restaurants close by, some even within walking distance. If you would like to buy groceries, Wal-Mart and Target are both located within a few miles of the hotel. If you need a room with a microwave and refrigerator, reserve the suite, because the standard room does not have one.
There is a free shuttle service that can take you anywhere you want to go within a 5-mile radius of the hotel, including one of the nearby fabulous parks.
We will have a thread in the Ravelry group where you can try to find a roommate for the hotel or people who might want to carpool to the event, if that will help you keep the expenses down.

Event Cost (includes lunch on Friday and Saturday, see below)
- $90 for attendees (non refundable, but transferable)
- $100 for attendees who are also vending at the event (non refundable, but transferable)
The cost is the same, whether you are attending one day, two days, or all three days.
This cost is your registration fee and does not include the cost of the hotel room or dinner/snacks.
Bottled water will be provided in the meeting room by Kimberly.
If you are flying in for this event, and you would like for Kimberly to pick up specific snacks/foods/drinks for you, you can give her the list at least a week in advance, and she will pick them up for you and you can reimburse her for the costs when you arrive. This is being done to keep the cost of the event as low as possible. ;)
Standard King/Double Queen - $99 per night
King/Double Queen Suite - $109 per night
Hotel room rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes (currently 12%) in effect at the time of check in.
Rate includes a full hot breakfast buffet for all room occupants.

Guaranteed Hotel Reservations
All reservations must be accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card.
Hotel Reservation Cutoff Date
Hotel reservations must be received on or before January 15, 2015 at 5:00pm (the Cutoff Date). At the Cutoff Date, Hotel will review the reservation pickup for the event, release the unreserved rooms for general sale, and determine whether it can accept reservations based on a space- and rate-available basis at the retreat group rate after this date.
How to Register for the Retreat
Fill out the registration form and either scan and email it or snail mail it to Kimberly. (See cutoff date below.) Contact Kimberly directly for her mailing address.
This event will be limited to the first 20 people who register AND pay, so register and pay as soon as you can to guarantee your spot. If the event fills up and then payment is received, your payment will be returned to you.
If the event fills up, a waiting list will be created and you will be contacted on a first-come-first-served basis to see if you want to attend.
Retreat Registration Cutoff Date
Retreat reservation paperwork AND payment must be received either in email or snail mail by January 15, 2015. Absolutely no exceptions.
Method of Payment for Retreat
- Check (a $40 fee will be charged for checks returned for insufficient funds)
- Money order
- Paypal (ask Kimberly for her email address before sending)
There will be several vendors selling knitting/spinning related items from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Space is limited to 5 vendors and will be granted on the order of who pays their registration fees in full first.
Vendors will be promoted in many places, such as the SockBunny podcast, in the SockBunny Ravelry Group, on the podcast blog, on Facebook, Instagram, etc. They will be announced after their registration form and event payment have been received.
Each attendee will receive a goodie bag, which will include a brochure listing all of the vendors and their contact information.
Door Prizes and Goodie Bags
If you would like to donate a door prize, please do! It doesn't have to be knitting related.
A list of people who donate door prizes will be provided to all retreat attendees, unless you ask to remain anonymous.
If you would like to send items for goodie bags, please send 20 of each item, and they will be placed in the goodie bags for the attendees. Be sure to attach your business card. If we have fewer than 20 attendees, remaining goodie bags will be given away on the SockBunny Knit and Fit podcast.
Other Miscellaneous Information
There will be a "goodbye breakfast" at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday at the nearby Cracker Barrel for anyone who wishes to attend. (You will pay for your own breakfast.)
The hotel has a "coffee bar" in the lobby, and this is free to anyone who has a room reservation at the hotel. They also make cookies in the afternoon for hotel residents.
There is a flea market that is open Fri-Sun right down the street from the hotel.
There are several parks within a 5-minute drive of the hotel, and a couple are within walking distance and are right on the water (Tampa Bay).
If you have a comfy knitting chair that you want to bring, and you can carry it in, feel free to bring it!
Spinners, please bring your spinning wheels and/or spindles.
